Engine & Capability

• TRIPLE ENGINE POWER: With a higher 900cc capacity, and innovative configuration, the Tiger 900 engine delivers more power across the entire rev range, with a high-peak power of 94 HP @ 8,750 rpm and 9% more than the previous generation in the mid-range. Torque is also significantly increased, peaking at 64 LB-FT @ 7,250 rpm, which is a significant 10% more than previous generation. The 900cc triple engine was designed with ‘Siamese’ liners that allow increased capacity and torque, a crankshaft that improves engine character and sound, a balancer to manage the firing order, and camshafts, pistons and con rods.
• FIRING ORDER: The higher capacity and higher performance 900cc engine is now fully Euro 5 compliant, and has a T-plane triple crank with unique 1,3,2 firing order for greater character and tractability at low rpm plus improved off-road feel. The result is enhanced rider connection to the rear wheel, refined on road performance and an incredibly distinctive T-plane triple soundtrack. The result of that is a much closer association to the throttle character, sound and feel of a twin lower down, whilst maintaining all the torque, feel and delivery in the mid-range and top-end of a triple.
• RIDE-ENHANCING BENEFITS: All Tiger 900 models feature a torque-assist clutch, which is optimized to reduce clutch lever effort for the rider. This adds to the Tiger 900’s ride comfort so it’s easier to ride for longer as well as during stop/start riding such as urban commutes. The reduced clutch packaging also facilitates a narrow engine design. A twin radiator setup delivers enhanced cooling performance, with better airflow management that reduces the ambient heat levels felt by the rider, plus a mass optimized setup which reduces coolant volume. There is also an airbox which now has an easily-accessible air filter, and a lower engine position which lowers the bike’s center of gravity, improving handling and low speed balance. These designs really add to this range’s ride-enhancing capability.
• UNED AND MASS-OPTIMIZED CHASSIS SETUP: Lighter overall than the previous generation by up to 11 pounds, the Tiger 900 delivers a noticeable improvement in handling and agility from a lightweight modular frame (comprising lighter weight steel trellis frame with bolt-on aluminum rear subframe and bolt-on hangers), lighter weight engine and high-specification suspension and brakes. Each bike’s center of gravity was revised – moved 1.57 inches forward and 0.78 inches down to achieve an enhanced weight distribution between the front and rear wheel, and better low speed balance in all riding scenarios. The Tigers’ excellent ground clearance is maintained on all variants.
• TIGER 900 GT RANGE SUSPENSION: The GT range features an advanced suspension setup designed to handle all the challenges you might face, including proper long-distance touring and urban adventures. Both GT models have a high quality Marzocchi suspension specification, with 45mm USD cartridge forks that have manually adjustable compression and rebound damping, and 7.08-inch (180mm) wheel travel at the front. At the rear the GT has manual preload and rebound damping adjustment with 6.69-inch (170mm) wheel travel, and the top-spec GT Pro has a gas pressurized RSU which is electronically adjustable for preload and rebound damping, with 6.69-inch (170mm) rear wheel travel. The GT Low Ride Height version has 5.94-inch (151mm) travel at the rear.
• CATEGORY-LEADING BREMBO STYLEMA®: All models in the Tiger 900 lineup feature Brembo’s top-specification road-going brakes. Lightweight, compact and carefully sculpted, these high-performing Brembo Stylema® calipers have reduced volume around the pistons and brake pads, reducing the internal space occupied by brake fluid to deliver a more immediate response. Additionally, the increased airflow around the brake pads helps the calipers cool quicker for even better performance and feel.
• ADDED CAPABILITY: An adjustable screen comes as standard on the Tiger 900 lineup which was designed to deliver superior wind protection in all riding scenarios with a simple, single-handed adjustment that changes the position of the screen’s aero diffusers to deflect wind off the rider and pillion while still maintaining the agile stance of the bike. In addition, a larger 5.28-gallon fuel tank improves long distance capability.
• AJUSTABLE SEAT HEIGHT: All Tiger 900 models feature a built-in easy adjustable 2-position seat mechanism designed to allow the rider to change the seat height by 0.78 inches to their preferred setup. The Tiger 900, GT and GT Pro seat height range is 31.88 – 32.67 inches, and the Rally and Rally Pro seat height range is 33.46 – 34.25 inches.
• ACCESSIBLE LOW RIDE HEIGHT: A dedicated lower ride height version of the mid-spec Tiger 900 GT is available which delivers a seat that is 1.96 inches lower than standard. This is achieved by a host of interrelated changes including dedicated forks and RSU with a tuned suspension setup. This lower seat version, like all other Tiger 900 models, additionally features a further 0.78-inch seat height adjustment, which means the Tiger 900 GT LRH (low ride height) seat height range is 29.92 – 30.70 inches.

• 900CC TRIPLE ENGINE: A larger capacity 900cc triple engine brings improved performance to the Tiger 900. A firing order was incorporated for a more engaged Tiger riding experience giving up to 9% more power across the rev range and a high-overall-peak power of 94 HP @ 8,750 rpm, plus 10% more peak torque than the Tiger 800 predecessor. The Tiger 900’s T-plane triple crank and 1,3,2 firing order has improved the character, off-road feel and on road performance of the engine and gives a more aggressive and engaging T-plane triple soundtrack with a more distinctive triple bark. There’s also enhanced cooling performance from an twin radiator set-up which improves air-flow management to reduce the ambient heat levels felt by the rider and reduce the volume of coolant. For added convenience, the Tiger 900 range has a more easily accessible air filter.
• CLASS-DEFINING CHASSIS: Maximum agility and capability with exceptional handling – The Tiger 900 is lighter overall by up to 11 pounds. The combination of lightweight modular frame, lighter weight engine, high-specification suspension and premium category-leading Brembo brakes delivers a significant improvement in agility and capability, ensuring exceptional handling in all riding scenarios. Each Tiger 900’s center of gravity was revised, moving 1.57 inches forward and 0.78 inches down compared with the predecessor 800 to deliver an enhanced weight distribution between the front and rear wheel and better low speed balance in all riding scenarios, all while maintaining the Tigers’ excellent ground clearance. Improved ergonomics – Narrower standover width improves rider comfort, particularly when stop-start riding. Handlebars are now 0.39 inches closer to the rider giving a more comfortable upright riding position, and dedicated footrest positions for each Tiger 900 model are optimized for the style of riding. Adjustable seat height – All models feature a built-in, easily adjustable two-position seat height mechanism which enables the rider to change the seat height by 0.78 inches to their preferred setup. The Tiger 900, Tiger 900 GT and Tiger 900 GT Pro have an 31.88 – 32.67-inch seat height; the Tiger 900 Rally and Tiger 900 Rally Pro have an 33.46 – 34.25-inch seat height; and the Tiger 900 GT Low Ride Height version has a 29.92 – 30.70-inch seat height.
• TAILORED SUSPENSION AND BRAKES SETUPS: Tiger 900 and Tiger 900 GT - The models have a tailored suspension setup developed to deliver a ride that raises the bar in the middleweight Adventure segment. The 900 and GT models have Marzocchi 45mm upside down cartridge front forks that deliver 7.08-inches (180mm) wheel travel. On the GT and GT Pro models, these have manually adjustable compression and rebound damping. The Rear Suspension Unit delivers 6.69-inches (170mm) wheel travel, and is manually adjustable for preload and rebound damping on the GT model. The top-spec GT Pro RSU features a electronically adjustable suspension setup, developed in collaboration with Marzocchi.
• STATE-OF-THE-ART TECHNOLOGY: A host of technology innovations were included on this Tiger 900 range of motorcycles. The mid- and top-spec Tiger 900 GT and Rally models feature full-color 7-inch TFT instruments which display comprehensive ride information, plus optimized cornering ABS and traction control for improved safety. The range offers up to six riding modes to tailor your ride depending on your needs, and core technology for all GT and Rally models is set at a high level, including all-LED lighting, heated grips, cruise control, handguards, and secure cell phone storage with charging. Top-spec technology for the GT Pro and Rally Pro models includes the integrated My Triumph connectivity system with Bluetooth® module fitted as standard, enabling phone and music operation, turn-by-turn navigation, and GoPro control via the switch cubes and displayed on the TFT instruments. There is also Triumph Shift Assist that allows up and down gear changes without the use of the clutch, and Tire Pressure Monitoring System for added rider safety and convenience. In addition, heated rider and pillion seats, and LED fog lights are fitted as standard.
• AGGRESSIVE STYLE AND ATTITUDE: As well as an design, premium bodywork reflects revised finishes and cleaner lines that give the Tiger 900 a more distinctive and dominant adventure stance, with each model having enhanced details and touches that amplify their dual road and off-road bias. Emphasizing its all-road capability and exceptional agility, the Tiger 900 has a narrow standover width and is designed with a lighter front-end, reduced bodywork scale, more aggressively styled fuel tank and advanced, lightweight frame. The GT and Rally ranges come in three premium color schemes: Pure White, Sapphire Black and Korosi Red color options for the GT and GT Pro; and Pure White, Sapphire Black and Matte Khaki color options for the Rally and Rally Pro. The base Tiger 900 model is available in Pure White.

• CLASS-LEADING 7” TFT SCREEN: The mid- and top-spec Tiger 900 Rally, Rally Pro, GT and GT Pro models feature full-color 7-inch TFT instruments, giving incredible clarity in four different information layout styles and four different colors. (The Tiger 900 base model has a 5-inch TFT high contrast screen)
• MY TRIUMPH CONNECTIVITY SYSTEM FITTED AS STANDARD ON THE GT PRO AND RALLY PRO MODELS: Adding a whole dimension to your ride, the integrated My Triumph connectivity system enables turn-by-turn navigation functionality in partnership with Google, GoPro control as well as phone calls and music operation, all of which are facilitated by a standard-fit Bluetooth module, accessed via the switch cubes and displayed on the 7-inch TFT screen. The My Triumph connectivity system can also be added on the mid-spec GT and Rally models with an accessory-fit Bluetooth module and software package update.

• IMU & FULLY INTEGRATED TECHNOLOGY SYSTEM: The optimized cornering ABS and traction control features on the mid- and top-spec Tiger 900s are supported by an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) developed by Continental. This enables the automatic selection of the appropriate level of ABS and traction control intervention by measuring roll, pitch, yaw and acceleration rates in order to calculate lean angle. This system ensures greater riding stability.
• TRIUMPH SHIFT ASSIST: Included on the top-spec GT Pro and Rally Pro models as standard, and available to all other Tiger 900 models as an accessory, the Triumph Shift Assist allows up and down gear changes to be performed without the use of the clutch for smooth, comfortable shifts while maintaining accelerator position. This adds to rider convenience and can reduce rider fatigue over long journeys.
• SIGNATURE ALL-LED LIGHTING: The Tiger 900 range’s signature all-LED lighting brings maintenance-free visibility with a more distinctively styled headlight, tail light, auxiliary lights, and indicators. The all-LED headlight provides a 27% mass reduction over alternative lighting systems, while incorporating distinctive accent lighting. The LED auxiliary lights provide long distance, all day capability, and are fitted as standard on the top-spec GT Pro and Rally Pro models.
• UP TO SIX RIDING MODES: The Tiger 900 range has up to six riding modes that adjust throttle response, ABS and traction control settings for maximum control in all riding conditions. All Tiger 900 models have Road and Rain riding modes, and the mid-spec Tiger 900 GT and Rally models have an additional two riding modes, Off-Road and Sport. The top-spec GT Pro and Rally Pro bikes both enjoy an additional fifth Rider-programmable mode, and exclusive to the top-spec Rally Pro model is a sixth Off-Road Pro mode. This is the most advanced off-road setup for experienced adventure and off-road capable riders. The Off-Road and Off-Road Pro riding modes now, for the first time, include technology that maintains engine idle speed by opening the throttle to compensate for additional wheel loads encountered during low rpm off-road riding to help prevent stalling.
• CORE TECHNOLOGY: At the heart of the Tiger 900’s premium ride quality is a highly robust and dependable set of core technology, all designed to make a great ride even greater.
• ELECTRONIC CRUISE CONTROL: Fitted as standard on the mid-spec Tiger 900 Rally and GT, and top-spec Rally Pro and GT Pro models, cruise control is accessed easily during riding to add an extra level of convenience on longer journeys. Cruise control can help to reduce rider fatigue over long distances and can also improve fuel efficiency.
• HEATED GRIPS AND HEATED SEATS: Heated grips are standard fit on all mid- and top-spec Tiger 900 models. Heated rider and pillion seats are fitted as standard on the top-spec GT Pro and Rally Pro models, and available as an accessory fit option on the mid-spec GT and Rally models.
• SWITCH CUBES AND 5-WAY JOYSTICK: The left hand switch cube on all Tiger 900 models has an intuitive, unique-in-segment 5-way joystick control to navigate the TFT instrument displays, which is ergonomically optimized to be easy to use when riding. The right hand switch cube supplies riding functions for all models including the ‘Start/Stop’ button. On the top-spec GT Pro and Rally Pro models, additional switches control the heated seats and fog lights.
• POWERED DEVICES AND CHARGING: A secure mobile phone storage compartment with 5v USB power port is fitted under the seat for charging personal equipment (not available on base Tiger 900 model). A 12v power port is also fitted for additional convenience.
• ILLUMINATED SWITCHES: Innovative backlit switches on the top-spec GT Pro and Rally Pro models enhance rider interaction, improving control in all lighting conditions. All buttons illuminate from LEDs housed inside the switch cubes.
• TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM: TPMS is fitted as standard on the top-spec GT Pro and Rally Pro models, and available as an accessory for all other Tiger 900 models. TPMS alerts the rider when tire pressures fall below an optimum level, adding to rider safety and convenience.
